Happy Friday,
I do not want students to be stressed out about testing. Testing is just one way of measuring a child’s growth. As a teacher, I am very happy with the progress that all students have made this year. It is visible in both their reading and writing. Reassure your child that they will do just fine on anything that is given to them. This test will just be more practice for all of the other tests to come. Please let me know if you have any questions.
SBAC testing will begin on Monday, 4/30. Please see the list of items below to help prepare your child.
Some guidelines for testing this year:
- Please be sure your child has a good night’s sleep
- Make sure you child has breakfast & is well hydrated
- Arrive to school on time
- Please try to avoid appointments
- Refer to the testing calendar below
- Students are allowed to use their personal earbuds (and mouse) from home
- Bring AR book to school every day
- NO electronics will be allowed (i.e. Apple watches, cell phones, etc.) These will need to be put in the student’s backpack during testing periods.

Language Arts (Perris only): If your child is struggling with the essay (and many students are at this point), please encourage them to come talk to me. Just a reminder that I have Homework Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is a great place to get additional help.
Language Arts (Chen only): Complete the reading log
Social Studies (Perris only): Greek Business Card due Friday, 5/4.

Science (All): No homework
Reading/Literature (Perris only): Please read 30 MINUTES every day at home.
