7th grade elective course sheets were sent home today (green).  Please complete the form as soon as possible because classes are filled on a first come, first served basis.  Please return the forms to Miss Perris, and I will give them to the office.  Students were given instructions on how to fill out the sheet.  In a nutshell:
 
1.  Either check off the wheel (trimesters) OR check off one of the year round classes.
2.  If your child has me for ELA, write PERRIS on the teacher line.  If your child has Mr. Chen, write CHEN on the teacher line. 
3.  Your child’s ID number is on their ID cards and on Powerschool.
4.  IF your child wants to take a year long class:
 
*They need to choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice.
**If they want band, they do NOT need to put a 2nd or 3rd choice.
***If your child wants AVID, they can write in the word “AVID” under year long classes and select a 2nd and 3rd choice.  If your child has not been approached regarding AVID, please disregard this as an option.
Please let me know if you have any questions.  Again, you want to get these forms in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

*Work on Rome map.  Rome map due on Thursday, 5/31.

***This will not be a tourney with brackets and a championship game.  Prizes will be distributed by raffle.

Language Arts (Perris only):  WORK on the argumentative essay.  The essay needs to be COMPLETED tonight for homework.  Students will be given an opportunity to revise and edit their essay tomorrow in class.

Social Studies (Perris only):  STUDENTS NEED TO BE STUDYING NOW FOR THE GREECE TEST!!  
 
*Review Greece packet - Chapter 8 (Students do not need to study the Gods and Goddesses worksheet.)  If your child studies every day for 10 to 15 minutes, they will be in good shape for the test next week.
 
*Greece test on chapters 7 and 8 on Tuesday, 5/22.  Greece packet due on the day of the test.  
 
**The chapter 7 Greece test was returned today.  Students need to study this test as well, since many of the questions will be on the combined chapter 7/8 test.

  • Students are allowed to use their personal earbuds (and mouse) from home 
  • Bring AR book to school every day
  • NO electronics will be allowed (i.e. Apple watches, cell phones, etc.)  These will need to be put in the student’s backpack during testing periods.

Baskin-Robbins Mother’s Day RAFFLE!!  You could win a Mother’s Day cake (Oreo Cookies ‘n Cream over chocolate cake) valued at $38.99.  The cake will serve 8-12 people.  Raffle tickets are $1.00.  Tickets can be purchased in B-2, Miss Thompson’s room.  Drawing will be held at 2:50 PM on May 11th.   Cake can be picked up any time between 11am-10pm until May 17,th 2018.
