Mrs. Allen-Schnoor, our Athletic Director, coordinates the Sport-a-Thon every year.  Donations, in their entirety, go to support our after school sports program... equipment, nets, goals, hurdles, uniforms, chalk, referee fees, and the like.

This November 14th, a Tuesday, is an opportunity for students to have two periods of physical play with the support of adults... namely you =)

Activities include badminton, table tennis, floor hockey, pickleball, basketball, soccer, walking the track, working out in the cardio room, and more.

Attached is a flyer.  The sixth grade shift is between roughly 10:30 and 12:30, while the 7th/8th grade shift is between roughly 1:00 and 3:00.

We are looking for upwards of 50 adults in the community to help support this endeavor with supervision and organization.  If you are able to lend a hand, Carmon Allen-Schnoor may be reached at callen [at] campbellusd.org.

In preparation for Tuesday, October 31st, we wanted to clarify with families our expectation for Halloween here at Rolling Hills, just like we will for students on Monday.

We expect learning to occur and behavior to resemble what is does on any other day here.   Costumes will need to fall in line with expectations... and we encourage modest dress.

  • We are to see student faces, without masks covering them.
  • Excessive blood and gore may be donned after school hours or at home.
  • References to profanity, drugs and alcohol, those that harass race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and sexual innuendos will not be here at RHMS.
  • Weapons, real and imitation, are to remain at home.

We encourage your child to ask the office for clarity should there be any questions.

Dear Friends and Music Enthusiasts,

We hope this message finds you well. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who attended our music concert tonight. Your presence and support meant the world to us, and it wouldn't have been the same without you.

Both performing groups gave it their all, and we were thrilled to share our passion for music with such an enthusiastic and appreciative audience. The energy in the room was electric, and your applause and cheers were incredibly motivating for our artists.

For those of you who missed the concert or would like to relive the magic, we've got great news for you! You can watch the entire performance by following this link: [Concert Video](https://youtu.be/Som1PVKr3S8).

Once again, thank you for being a part of this unforgettable evening. Your support fuels our love for music, and we couldn't do it without your encouragement.

We look forward to sharing more musical moments with you in the future. Stay tuned for upcoming events and performances!

With heartfelt thanks,
Patrick Aguayo

While Digital Citizenship Week is October 16-20, RHMS presents monthly Digital Citizenship lessons that rotate through all departments, including PE and electives, over the course of the entire school year.  Lessons are based upon the Common Sense Media website, and have been vetted by CUSD for several years now.  Lessons help students learn to empathize with one another and to think critically about the choice they make online.  See the attached flyers to determine what might be talking points at home.

Dance tickets for the October 27th dance from 5:00 to 7:00 are on sale during lunch later this week.  Permission slips are available to students and will be accepted provided grades and school behaviors meet expectations.  There is a suggested $5 donation.

The October PTA meeting is set for Zoom this Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM.  The link is here, and the agenda is here.

School Site Council voting has concluded.  In alphabetical order, Kristen Alldrin, Jill Brewer, and Vartika Chandra were selected.  They round out Jenni Avery and Megan Ray who comprise the "community/parent" aspect of the team.  Staff include Ellen Perris-Fitch, Steven Burbank, Cybele Pugliese, Kathy Merek-Akiba, and Lilly Renteria.

This Friday is a professional development day for teachers in CUSD, where sites will focus on an array of topics.  RHMS will be looking at ways to implement small group instruction to meet our diverse range of learners in any given classroom.

Clubs are up and running!  Please remember that there is a HW Club on Tuesday and Thursday in Rooms E1 and E2 from 3:15 ot 4:15.  While both teachers who host the club teach Math 8 and CAP 8, students may arrive and find a safe place to complete any homework.  Of course, if there are math questions, this a perfect time to receive a little more support.  Attendance does not require a commitment or formally signing up, rather checking in with a parent.  We are encouraging students to call home as they arrive to close the communication loop.

Voting for School Site Council is here.  Voting starts at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, October 10 and closes at 4:00 pm, Friday, October 13.  There are three openings, so we ask that you vote for no more than three.  Ballots that have more than three selections will be removed from the final tally.

A group of students is working with our PBIS Coordinator, Adriana Paz, and just set our first school dance with a Western theme.  Slated for Friday, October 27th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  Expectations for entrance include a minimum 2.00 GPA and no Fs, along with behaviors that have been in line with our school day.  A permission slip will be available to students early next week.  There is a suggested $5 donation.

PTA is still in the midst of its Educational Fund Fundraiser.  The website is here.  Joining the PTA, is a separate link, here.
