RHMS Weekly Update

While Digital Citizenship Week is October 16-20, RHMS presents monthly Digital Citizenship lessons that rotate through all departments, including PE and electives, over the course of the entire school year.  Lessons are based upon the Common Sense Media website, and have been vetted by CUSD for several years now.  Lessons help students learn to empathize with one another and to think critically about the choice they make online.  See the attached flyers to determine what might be talking points at home.

Dance tickets for the October 27th dance from 5:00 to 7:00 are on sale during lunch later this week.  Permission slips are available to students and will be accepted provided grades and school behaviors meet expectations.  There is a suggested $5 donation.

The October PTA meeting is set for Zoom this Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM.  The link is here, and the agenda is here.

School Site Council voting has concluded.  In alphabetical order, Kristen Alldrin, Jill Brewer, and Vartika Chandra were selected.  They round out Jenni Avery and Megan Ray who comprise the "community/parent" aspect of the team.  Staff include Ellen Perris-Fitch, Steven Burbank, Cybele Pugliese, Kathy Merek-Akiba, and Lilly Renteria.

This Friday is a professional development day for teachers in CUSD, where sites will focus on an array of topics.  RHMS will be looking at ways to implement small group instruction to meet our diverse range of learners in any given classroom.
