The RHMS Beginning Band is a group dedicated to the solid beginning of a musical education. During the first two weeks of class, students will learn how band class functions and will be able to sample instruments in order to select the right one for them. This ensemble will perform three concerts of exciting and challenging music and celebrate the end of their first year in band with a movie party!
Classroom News and Information
The meeting will be held in the RHMS cafeteria from 6:30 -7:30 PM. The agenda is attached. I hope to see you there!
Nevermind about tomorrow! The group pictures have been postponed until January.
The RHMS Winter Concert is tonight at 7:00 PM! Parents, please sit with your children as you watch the concert. This is a formal performance, and we need the audience to follow proper concert etiquette. Please sit with your kids in order to help them behave properly
Also, yearbook group photos are happening tomorrow! We will be taking the official photo of all three bands, so we would like all the students to bring their band shirts to school for the pictures. Please don't forget!

The RHMS Winter Concert is less than two weeks away! I hope you're hearing tons of focused practicing at home as we prepare for the big night! Read on for an approximate schedule and some important details.
When: Wednesday, December 14th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
Where: RHMS Gym
6:30 PM - Beginning Band students arrive (meet in Band Room)
7:00 PM - Beginning Band performs
7:20 PM - Intermediate Band performs
7:45 PM - Advanced Band performs
-Please be prepared to wear the proper band uniform! Black shoes, black socks, and black slacks are required!
-Intermediate and Beginning Band students are welcome to use school-owned shoes free of charge (stop by my office after school- sizes are limited- first come, first served)
-Please plan to stay for the entire event! Please watch all three performing ensembles!
-Beginning Band students need to arrive at 6:30 PM. All other students should arrive at 7:00 PM.

The Marshall Lane coffee van Awake Up Call will be serving assorted hot, delicious drinks!
We will also be selling hot dogs for $1, along with our usual selection of fabulous baked goods!

The band shirt order form is due by the end of this week (11/10). Beginning Band students must order a band t-shirt, which will be worn for all of our performances. Additionally, all are welcome to order band sweatshirts, although those are optional. You will find the form attached to this notification. Thanks!
Thanks again for participating in the band fundraiser last month! It was a resounding success that will prove to be quite helpful for the music program!
Some of the items have arrived and will be available for pick-up after school next week in room N2 (next door to the band room). Please plan to pick these items up as soon as possible so that you can deliver them to your customers!
Please plan to attend the Music Booster meeting on Monday, 10/24, especially if you'd like more information concerning volunteer opportunities and the inner workings of the music program. Music Booster meetings are held at 6:30 PM in the RHMS cafeteria.
