Homework for 9/17/18:

Reading/Literature:  Green group only — We read the poem “Jabberwocky” in class today.  Afterwards, students began working on their own “nonsense” poem, called The Blotz Poem.  Although students will be given more time in class tomorrow to work on the poem, some students might want to work on it this evening (some students were struggling.)  After the student comes up with a name for his/her creature, ALL of the words following (filling in the blanks) need to start with the FIRST LETTER OF THE CREATURE’S NAME.
READ 20 mins. every night including weekends!
***If a student is not sure if the book they are reading is an AR book, they can go to www.arbookfind.com.  Simply type in the name of the book, and it will tell you if the book is an AR book.
Language Arts:

*Study grammar review (Monday) - 5 mins.

*We read the short story “The Ravine” in class today.  Students need to think about the character, Vinny.  Why didn’t he jump?
Math:  Bring math workbook tomorrow
Science:

*Re-read the article “It’s Alive”

*Complete the microscope worksheet
Social Studies:  Review section 1 vocabulary words completed in class today.
Have a great night.
