Miss Perris' 6th Grade ELA, Reading, and Social Studies

5/2/19

Happy Baskin-Robbins Thursday,

I called into the classroom today and was able to speak to both groups of students.  They all seem to be doing well, which was nice to hear.  As far as tonight, I think that students need to rest up!!  I’m sure it was a long day for them with testing.  From what I have been told, students did a GREAT job with taking their time during the test.  ELA testing continues tomorrow.  Thank you to those students, who used part of their break, to help Ms. Harrington and Mr. Gillie set up the classroom for testing.  PLEASE tell your child that we expect the same great behavior tomorrow.
***For math, please bring the packet back to school TOMORROW.
****Food donations would be great at this point.  Students are still very hungry.  Goldfish, pretzels, granola bars, etc. are all good snacks.  Thank you in advance for your support!
The reminders for tomorrow are the same:
1.  Bring AR book to school!
2.  Bring earbuds to school.
3.  Students need to use the restroom during break, because unless it is an emergency, students will not be released from the classroom during the testing period (per recent administrative email).
4.  Students CANNOT use the Chromebooks once they are done with testing.  They can either READ or DRAW (principal prefers reading).  Please remind kids to bring their AR book to class every day during testing.
5.  There is absolutely NO talking when someone is testing.
6.  Students need to stay in their seats during the testing period.
7.  Gum chewing allowed only for first 1/2 hour of each testing period.  Then, gum must be put in the wrapper and left on the desk.  Students will be given mints, etc. throughout the test.  Both classrooms will also have Goldfish and granola bars, if needed.
8.  Take your time, and try your best!  :)
Have a good night.
Ms. Perris/Ms. Harrington/Mr. Gillie
