Miss Perris' 6th Grade ELA, Reading, and Social Studies

1/25/19

Happy Friday,

Just a reminder that it is the halfway mark of the trimester, meaning progress reports will be sent home next week.  The end of Trimester 2 is March 8th.  I spent time today talking with individual students regarding their nightly reading and AR points.  Reading is a homework requirement that must be completed daily.  Students will have until the end of the trimester to reach their AR goal.  Thanks as always for your support!
iReady testing begins next week.  Your child is allowed to bring earbuds from home (if they have them).  The schedule is as follows:
Walden West has asked our parents to take a survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WW2018Parent.  Please do so at your earliest convenience.  Students were allowed time in class to take their survey as well.
Here is the link for a science camp video that was put together by Ms. Jennifer Bell (one of our 6th grade teachers).  It’s private and unlisted, but you can access it with this link:  https://youtu.be/WpK5-4fhaA0
Homework for 1/25/19:

Reading/Literature:  READ 30 minutes every night including weekends!  BOTH classes have now begun reading the book Jaguar.  Just a reminder that composition books must be kept in the student’s backpack.  Composition books will be graded for accuracy, completeness, and grammar (punctuation, spelling, capitalization, etc.)

Language Arts:  No homework
Math:  No homework
Science:  No homework

Social Studies:  No homework

Have a great weekend.
