Good morning and Happy New Year.  We are glad to see so many students back on campus enjoying being with their friends and participating in their learning.

As we wrap up iReady testing this week and prepare for mid trimester progress reports to be sent via Schoology, we want to get ahead of what the second semester of school has in store.

  • PTA seeks your input in what it can do to support our community.  Please, please take a moment to complete this form here.
  • While we have a second dance planned on February 9th, we have the second round of clubs being formulated as well.  If a community member has an idea for a club that interests students, please contact Adriana Paz to discuss details.  Her email is apaz [at] campbellusd.org.
  • Westmont High School will be visiting our 8th grade science class on February 9th to begin its scheduling process.  8th grade families, please look for emails and physical mail from the Campbell Union HIGH School District.  There will be paperwork on your end to complete as you enroll your children in a new district.  For those students set to attend Del Mar, DMHS will be here on the 8th to meet with students.

Our PTA needs help finding a PTA auditing committee and a nominating committee.  The help is detailed below:
  • PTA Auditing Committee comprises of one to two members who will conduct an annual or bi-annual audit of PTA's spendings.  If this person is a CPA, only one member is required.  If there are no CPAs available, the committee can be comprised of two members who are not CPAs.
  • Nominating committee comprises of two members who will find replacements for the PTA board for the next term.  The committee communicates with current board members to find out their intention to stay or leave the board for next term.  If there is a vacancy, the committee finds replacements for those roles.
If there is interest to help support, please contact our PTA at:
  • president [at] ptarhms.org
  • ExecVP [at] ptarhms.org

Trying to meet more student needs, RHMS is working towards creating additional time to spend with students during our school day and allowing students the opportunity to select how to best demonstrate their mastery of concepts.  Attached are photos of small group instruction in an array of settings and examples of science projects from which students may choose that ultimately calculate potential and kinetic energy.
