While having concerts on campus is our goal, we are proud to present these recordings.  The digital poster that presents the opening is a result of our new Digital Arts class, where students created designs using an array of digital tools.  The winning design was by Bella Hsieh.

With Halloween nearly upon us, we want to remind families of our expectations for Friday.  Please know that while we want our students to enjoy the day, we expect students to be mindful of their costumes and arrive prepared to learn, just like any other day.  Costumes are certainly not required, but may be worn provided they are appropriate... free of gore and violence, free of harassment and hate, free of references to drugs and alcohol.  Students who choose to wear costumes that detract from the learning environment or create an atmosphere that may disrupt our goal of engagement and education will be asked to change.  Questions?  Please contact the office.  We will share these expectations with students on Thursday.

While there is no school Monday, November 1st, teachers will be on site diving deeper into three topics... Behavior, Bias, and Instruction.  It is our goal to analyze the previous ten weeks of school and plan for upcoming weeks that benefit more and more students.

The end of our trimester is November 10th.  Please pay particular attention to PowerSchool and remain connected to teachers.  At the start of our second trimester, students with certain "wheel" exploratories will experience a single period schedule change.  Students will be made aware of the change in advance.

We continue to receive concerns from Safeway and establishments at our neighborhood shopping center.  We ask that families are very clear with children regarding safe routes home and the behaviors that stores in the shopping center expect of youthful customers.

We appreciate our community's efforts at supporting each other as we inch our way back to a more socially open educational setting.  We are thrilled that we are able to safely engage in classrooms, eat at school, participate in sports, and join clubs.  Thanks for all you do!

Parent-Teacher Conferences start THIS week.  While school ends at 1:05, teachers should have contacted you last week, sharing a Zoom link to attend a virtual conference.  In order to have an efficient  process for our 7th and 8th grade families and staff, we've created lists where there will be a single point of contact to review similar information  unique to your child's performance and growth points.  Our daily bell schedule still feature six periods and lunch on campus.

We are proud to soon offer clubs to our students.  This link helps describe what may be offered.  While some clubs will have a minimum numbers of students required, all will have a maximum.

Sign ups will be run through our RHMS website.  Using their CUSD Google accounts, students may sign up for clubs beginning at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 30th.  Please go to this link to initiate the sign up process at that time.  It is under the tab... academics, enrichment, clubs.

We genuinely appreciate the dedication our staff and our community displayed as they  offered to sponsor clubs running through December.  Provided these clubs meet with success, we will explore offering a second and even third round of clubs later in the year.

Parent-Teacher Conferences start next week.  While school ends at 1:05, teachers will be contacting you, sharing a Zoom link to attend a virtual conference.  In order to have an efficient  process for our 7th and 8th grade families and staff, we've created lists where there will be a single point of contact to review similar information  unique to your child's performance and growth points.  Our daily bell schedule still feature six periods and lunch on campus.

COVID testing continues on our site.  While aiming to streamline the process, we are working with Grapefruit to expedite the process and ensure accuracy of results.  We are thankful that RHMS remains fully opened, offering clubs and after school athletics as a result of our community's commitment to safety.

Wearing a properly fitted bike helmet and being aware of surroundings are the best ways to ensure safe arrival to school and back home for our travelers.  Please reinforce this with your children, as we will do so at school later this week during morning announcements.

Dear 8th Grade Families,
In the yearbook, we dedicate several pages to our 8th graders to showcase their last year at RHMS. One set of these pages is the section for Baby/Toddler pictures.
Inclusion of a baby/toddler picture in this section is free to all parents, but the deadline to submit a picture is Friday, October 22, 2021. Please read the attached flier carefully for the details about the size/type of picture that can be used, as well as how to submit the picture to me.
We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to include your child in this special Baby Picture section. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me at lbertolucci [at] campbellusd.org.

Three periods of STEAM students explored forces such as gravity and the potential measures to protect an egg from shattering upon being dropped from a rooftop earlier this week.  (Attached photos are below.)

COVID testing with parental consent will continue once weekly at RHMS.  The rapid test will provide immediate results and help ensure our community remains safe.  Please contact our office to sign up or follow this link in English or this link in Spanish.

Parent Teacher Conferences are set for the week of October 4th.  Students are dismissed at 1:05 to allow teachers an opportunity to meet with families on Zoom between 1:30 and 4:00 pm.  Teachers at both middle schools are working to determine the best way to learn how we may be able to better support your child and provide you details about your child's progress.  It is likely that a single assigned teacher will share a summary and details with our upper grade students.

Finally, we seek two members to round out our RHMS School Site Council.  People serve a two year term and help to support our site's LCAP goals of high quality instrution, social/emotional learning, and parent engagement.  There are typically four meetings per year.  If this interests you or if you have any questions, please contact Ted Cribari at tcribari [at] campellusd.org.
