Part of the West Valley Athletic League, RHMS will offer sports this year.  Our Athletic Director is Carmon Allen-Schnoor, and a link to our after school sports is here.  Questions about sports and the sports physical that must be completed by your child's pediatrician may be directed to her at callen-schnoor [at] campbellusd.org.

It is our intention to offer after school clubs as well.  The quantity and type of clubs are contingent upon the numbers of adults who express an interest in contacting our Athletic Director and sponsoring them.

The RHMS musical is a function of CUSD Extensions.  It is tentatively set for Winter/Spring of 2022.  We also offer CREW after school.  For more information, use this link.

Fall pictures are set for Thursday, September 9th.  Photos will be taken during PE classes.  Please check your email for information coming from Lifetouch in regards to online ordering.  We will also be sending home physical order forms later this week.

We will start our middle school iReady testing on Tuesday, September 7th.  As we are all teachers, we will run all testing through fourth period classes, not just ELA and math courses.  The bell schedule link is here.  Please refer to the last schedule.

With projected enrollment not always mirroring the actual numbers of students who enroll in August, we are finalizing schedule changes this week.  Some classes will be combined, and we do not take this lightly.  Affected students and parents will be notified by Friday of this week.

For up to date COVID 19 information, including initial vaccination and potential booster appointments for children 12 and older, please use this link.

In an effort to keep our students and staff safer from COVID transmission, CUSD is teaming with Grapefruit Testing in the coming weeks.  With parental consent, students will be tested here at RHMS.  Here is a video and a link that will add context.  Here is the consent form so we may help keep our community safer.

Mindful that Parent-Teacher Conferences are the week of October 4th, Back to School Night will be virtual with a live portion and recorded teacher links in most cases.  The recordings allows for families to find times that best suits needs as teachers share details of courses and instructional strategies.  Beginning at 6:30 on September 8th, we will share a link with families and conclude the evening with our first PTA meeting of the year.  PTA budget will be passed and information shared.

The Parent/Guardian Agreements and Consent Forms are required of all families prior to enrollment.  They contain important emergency contacts for us at RHMS and other necessary information and agreements.  Editable links were sent from "Campbell Union School District via Informed K12" on July 30th and on August 5th.  Please be certain to complete those forms today.  For those unable to locate that email or just recently enrolled, please print and complete the forms or come to our office to obtain hard copies.

In our continued effort for a single point of information, we will endeavor to keep families up to date via the internet... our website and email.

  • New Student Orientation August 12.  Information and sign up link sent to families in a previous email.
  • Returning students may obtain their schedules from PowerSchool the week of August 16. There is no returning student orientation, nor formal schedule pick up day.  First day on campus is August 19, unless there is an issue obtaining schedule from PowerSchool.

We are planning for a full re-opening on August 19th and will communicate information to families as our start date nears.  Please be alert to checking your email and our website for updates regarding New Student Orientation, schedule collection, Parent Meetings, and ways you can support the greater RHMS community.

Our tentative bell schedule is here.  We are building two separate lunches so that we may be nimble if SC County guidance remains challenging to facilitate lunch for 900 students simultaneously on our campus.  Whether your child has early or late lunch will be determined and communicated when school starts.

8th graders and anyone moving out of CUSD will have their CUSD google accounts frozen in the coming weeks.  Should students wish to save work, please follow these instructions.

Yearbook printing and therefore distrubution were affected by COVID 19.  Our distribution date was set for Tuesday, June 22 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm; remaining yearbooks will be distributed after school starts in August.  We do have a few dozen remaining to sell should that interest anyone.

The transition between middle school and high school, particularly when the schools are in different districts, is easier by finding support.  Below are some points of contact at Westmont High School and the Campbell High School District for reference.  Attached are some flyers unique to Westmont.  As items are shared with us, we will continue to update.

Many questions regarding start dates, class schedules, participation in athletics and clubs, and inter-districts transfers may be found on those links.

Fourth period teachers will read the names of their students in alphabetical order.  The order follows:

  • Mrs. Jones
  • Mrs. Valdez
  • Ms. Georgakas
  • Mrs. Gulamerian
  • Mrs. Harris
  • Mrs. Lai

  • Mr. Stapes (Mrs. Beddo)
  • Mr. Stapp
  • Ms. Gotuaco (for Distance Learning students)

  • Mrs. Weber

Attire is to be celebratory in nature, what we'd call dressy casual.  So that RHMS does not have to make an unfortnuate decision regarding attire, if there are questions about the appropriateness of clothing, we ask that families contact the school.  Students may bring a change of clothes for the remainder of the day if they wish.

A link to a digital 5 by 7 individual photo will be sent to families.  Should more or different sizes be sought, please see the attachment below.

After the dismissal of our 6th and 7th graders at the regular time, we will host an 8th grade BBQ.  8th graders and staff will celebrate until 2:30 with ping pong, cornhole, games, Kona Ice, autograph pages, and a music playlist.  It is expected that 8th graders return to school on Wednesday and Thursday.

In an effort to keep items safe, students may collect folders that contain a diploma, program, report card, and T3 academic award if earned on Wednesday and Thursday.

We've sent emails to families regarding potential exploratory and elective offerings for 2021-2022.  Students will be using their CUSD Gmail accounts as they begin to share their preferences with RHMS next week.

There is also information for our seventh grade families regarding Math 8 and CAP8.  More details may follow.

Finally, as CUSD works to better understand some of the conflicting guidance regarding promotion ceremonies, we will share with our 8th grade families any plans that CUSD may develop.
