Spanish

While emphasizing the Common Core curriculum, Spanish at Rolling Hills School encourages students to make connections with a different culture and take ownership of their education through the development of vocabulary and written and verbal skills in a second language.  RHMS offers two levels of Spanish.  Both Spanish courses are taught at a high school level of rigor, and successful completion of the courses  allows students to take advanced Spanish courses in high school.

Spanish I introduces students to basic structures and vocabulary dealing with everyday situations, that enable them to communicate effectively in Spanish at an introductory level.  In Spanish II, students deepen their understanding of the five communication skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and cultural awareness.  They develop the ability to read short texts and write short paragraphs dealing with everyday life.
