We hope last week's vacation was full of smiles and some rest.

Our RHMS PTA is making another push to help support the RHMS Education Fund.  Tax deductible donations may be made directly here, and a flyer is below.  There is an opportunity for corporate matching as well.  A paper flyer will be going home with students tomorrow, Wednesday.

Next week, CUSD will open the second window for iReady testing.  The schedule is on page four here.  Scores will be sent home upon the district testing window closing.  Our goal is to see students grow as we have just completed a third of our academic school year.  So that we have the best opportunity to demonstrate growth, please:

  • provide your child with wired headphones.  We will go ahead and purchase several hundred for those who do not have them.
  • ensure your child's Chromebook is charged every evening and that your child brings the charger to school.
  • make every possible effort to avoid appointments during the mid and late morning.

As we get closer to colder and presumably wetter weather, we are aware there will be higher rates of absenteeism.  Please communicate with us if your child is ill.  Our attendance clerk, Araceli Perez, may be reached via email at aperez [at] campbellusd.org

In an effort for families to identity illness during the colder months if they choose, we will be offering COVID test kits at the end of our school day, Wednesday, December 13th.  These arrived from our County Office of Education.

Thank you for taking the time to be informed.

Dear RHMS Families,

As we head off to the Thanksgiving break,  RHMS Athletics would like to Thank you for your support at the 2023 Sport-A-Thon.    Your giving spirit of the gift of time, water, gift cards and financial support has raised $8500.00 for the RHMS Athletics program.    WOW!!   We have an incredible community.    We had so much fun walking around to the different events and seeing all the smiles and friendly competition at the different activities. Already planning on how we can add more fun events for the students next year.

We will be honoring our top fundraisers and raffle winners when we get back from break.

Thank you again and we hope you have a fabulous week with family and friends.

Sincerely,
RHMS Athletics

Mrs. Allen-Schnoor, our Athletic Director, coordinates the Sport-a-Thon every year.  Donations, in their entirety, go to support our after school sports program... equipment, nets, goals, hurdles, uniforms, chalk, referee fees, and the like.

This November 14th, a Tuesday, is an opportunity for students to have two periods of physical play with the support of adults... namely you =)

Activities include badminton, table tennis, floor hockey, pickleball, basketball, soccer, walking the track, working out in the cardio room, and more.

Attached is a flyer.  The sixth grade shift is between roughly 10:30 and 12:30, while the 7th/8th grade shift is between roughly 1:00 and 3:00.

We are looking for upwards of 50 adults in the community to help support this endeavor with supervision and organization.  If you are able to lend a hand, Carmon Allen-Schnoor may be reached at callen [at] campbellusd.org.

In preparation for Tuesday, October 31st, we wanted to clarify with families our expectation for Halloween here at Rolling Hills, just like we will for students on Monday.

We expect learning to occur and behavior to resemble what is does on any other day here.   Costumes will need to fall in line with expectations... and we encourage modest dress.

  • We are to see student faces, without masks covering them.
  • Excessive blood and gore may be donned after school hours or at home.
  • References to profanity, drugs and alcohol, those that harass race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and sexual innuendos will not be here at RHMS.
  • Weapons, real and imitation, are to remain at home.

We encourage your child to ask the office for clarity should there be any questions.
