Rolling Hills Middle School

Welcome Back

Dear Students and Parents:

Welcome to the 2015-16 school year. Our first day of school is August 19, 2015.  We are very excited to have you and your children as part of the Rolling Hills Family.Every staff member has been working very hard to prepare for the return of our wonderful students. We have set very high expectations and made plans to guarantee that every student at RHMS will be successful this school year, but our true success comes through our dedication to important details such as relationship building and communication.

W.E.B. Day Tuesday, August 11th

  • 5th & 6th WEB Day ……..8:00 AM – 12:00 (See attached flyer)
  • 7th& 8th New Students Only……...1:00 – 1:45 PM (Parents and students)

Wednesday, August 12th All Students (returning and new) Orientation:

  • 6th Grade – All Students                10:30 – 11:30 am
  • 7th Grade – All Students                  1:00 – 2:00 pm
  • 8th Grade – All Students                  2:00 – 3:00 pm

On Wednesday the 12th, all students will be able to pick up their class schedules for the 2015-16 school year. In order to receive your schedule, you must turn in all forms listed on the back of your Green Orientation Envelope. Please review and make appropriate changes to your green contact information sheet before coming to your scheduled registration time. This year, we have also included the Parent Handbook and Library Contract in your summer packet. Forms in the handbook and the Library Contract must also be signed and returned at registration. Schedules will not be given to students who do not have the green information sheet, Library Contract, and all handbook forms completed and SIGNED by their parent or legal guardian. While we encourage parents to accompany their child to receive their schedule, we do allow students to turn in their information and receive their schedules without their guardian. We also understand that some families will be unable to attend orientation. Those students should bring completed materials to the information tables between 7:45 and 8:15 on the first day of school.

At Orientation, you will also be able to purchase PE uniforms, register for e-scrip, and get more information about our wonderful PTA (flyers will be in your envelope). Please take the time to go over these pages, and then bring the completed materials to your scheduled orientation meeting. PTA representatives will be on hand to answer questions and collect forms.

As we begin this year, please remember that this is your school and we welcome your involvement.  To increase communication between home and school, we are asking all parents to ensure their child uses their Rolling Hills Middle School planner. Students will receive their planner the first day of school, courtesy of the PTA.  The planner is good for the entire school year and serves as a link between home and school, and includes school contact information and important school dates. Additional communication networks will be established to keep you up to date about what is happening at RHMS, including Friday Envelopes, School Messenger, our school newsletter The Rolling Record, The Daily Bulletin through Power School, and our “New and Improved” school website at http://rollinghills.campbellusd.org.

Mark your calendars! Back to School Night is Wednesday, September 9th.

If there are any questions or concerns, please call 364-4235 for general information.

Sincerely,
