Update and Reminder on Chromebooks and Cell Phone Pouches

Good morning!  While we work to create technology breaks for our students and increase face to face interactions during the school day, we are happy CUSD has worked to find such solutions.

As many are aware, yesterday we worked to distribute Chromebooks to all new students, including everyone in sixth grade and those new to us in seventh and eighth grades.  Student use will begin today in class!  During break and lunch, Chromebooks will be stored in backpacks.

We also distributed cell phone pouches to all students and managed several unlocking locations.  In just under 4 minutes and 30 seconds, we began to bring the unlocking stations inside as students were able to unlock pouches efficiently!

For those students who accidentally locked pouches at night, we will place a station adjacent to the office in the morning so that students more properly store cell phones prior to the start of first period.

As all students were assigned pouches and students have been reminded, first period teachers will conduct pouch checks in the morning going forward.  The expectation is that everyone produces a pouch, and those students with phones, smartwatches, and airpods store the items inside.

Thank you for the support you provide at home for all of our students.

We will send periodic updates as we get further along into the year.
