RHMS Cross Country Finals: Champions!

RHMS Eagles Soared to Cross Country Victory

As of Wednesday, October 9th, the 2024 Cross Country season has come to an end. This season we had roughly eighty runners participating in practices that took us throughout the surrounding neighborhoods, up steep hills and around previously unknown streets.

This dedication to attending practice and meets that our Rolling Hills runners have proudly shown this season has resulted in stand out individuals and multiple championship teams. 

This season, two athletes in particular have stood out as kind, dedicated, encouraging, and achieving, receiving the Jane Duff Outstanding Cross Country Athlete Award: 

Mila Spajic and Shotaro Horibe

Both these athletes have consistently shown up to practice, cheered on their teammates, and committed themselves to running as their best selves. These traits are displayed by many members of the team, but have radiated from both Mila and Shotaro for many running seasons. 

In addition to these outstanding individuals, we have the pleasure of announcing three championship teams this season: the 7th grade boys, the 8th grade girls, and the 8th grade boys. 

All three teams invested deeply this season in their own running abilities and each other. And as coaches, we often stand in awe at the team’s positivity and commitment to practicing with vigor. These teams, particularly our 8th graders who will be moving on to high school running, will be missed.
