Rolling Hills Middle School

Lights. Camera. Action.

Whether there is electricity or not, learning still occurs during a storm!

Today, while RHMS was without power for the final ten minutes of lunch and periods 5 and 6 due to the recent storm, staff and students went about their normal day as best as they could.  In many cases, with ample lighting from windows and skylights, instruction continued.  Sixth grade students reviewed the Battle of Marathon and Thermopylae, 7th grade classrooms created schematics of future houses, and 8th grade students discussed the Monroe Doctrine and prepared notes for an upcoming presentation.

There are contingency plans for extended power outages, including distribution of food and battery powered lanterns, and Parent Square communication.
