Rolling Hills Middle School

Principal's Corner November 6, 2015

Looking for a fun and entertaining family night out? Next week is the opening of our wonderful RHMS musical “The Little Mermaid, Junior”. Students have been diligently learning songs, rehearsing dances, and memorizing lines all for your entertainment! I’ve been fortunate to not only watch the rehearsals (the dancing is fabulous) but to have an inside track to the best seats in the house (a small benefit of my job). Be sure to purchase your tickets before they sell out.

Today was the 8th grade College Field Trip. Every year, Mrs. Raghu (8th grade science) coordinates both this field trip and Career Day for our students. Next Friday is Career Day- please ask your child about the wonderful things they saw today at UC Santa Cruz and then again next Friday about the interesting people they met at Career Day. Just a reminder: next Friday, our bell schedule will run backwards, starting with period 6 and ending the day with period 1. This will help us facilitate career day. We’ll remind students again as the day draws near.

And finally, thank you for all the support you have given both teachers and students during this transition to Common Core. I know the homework looks different and some nights are a challenge, but the classrooms are more vibrant and our students more engaged. My sincere thanks to all of you for everything you have done for all our kids.

Always,
Cynthia Dodd
