Lit circles
Where:
Lit circles are reading groups that have been created during literature based on reading levels. The students have picked a book with their group to read and discuss throughout the lit circle time. Each day during literature class, students will have 15 minutes of silent reading and 5 minutes of group discussion. They have created a calendar to follow and know where to be by the time their small group meets with the teacher. They have a written piece to complete as they read to help them prepare for the teacher discussion time. They CAN read at home as well. They have the book with them. There will be an AR test at the end of the session or when they finish the book.
