Homework 10/6
Math: Started an equivalent fractions packet to get the kids ready for the lesson series on Multiplication/Division/Addition/Subtraction of fractions after camp. PLEASE DO NOT WORK AHEAD on the packet tonight, I need you on the same page as me when I give notes/strategies/vocabulary as I teach it... otherwise you missout on important conversation surrounding math while you are zoning becaue you are done....
Kids are quickly discovering how important their multiplication facts are to the ease of doing a new skill. Please PLEASE practice your facts with flashcards or website practice - any website will do!
Science: BrainPop on the solar system and a passage read on the steps for the formation of Earth. Kids response was a paragraph outlining the steps. If they did not finish in class, then it is HW due tomorrow - told them to add it to their planners if they were not fnished. Should have turned in their Balloon lab reports on Wednesday.
PE: GREEN ran the 30 minute mile and I am so proud of the high bars they set for themselves... excellent showing kids! GOLD needs to take their PE uniforms home tomorrow - getting ripe! Always take it home on your Friday class. GOLD mile make-ups are tomrrow.
Tutoring was a blast as usual - watched Khan Academy on equivalent fractions, then some practice at XL math until they kicked us off for not having an account :( Then some moved to Fog Stone Isle fractions and some did specific skill practice in fractions on Funbrain.com or Mathplayground.com. And of course... ICE CREAM!
Some pics from earlier this week and tutoring :)
