Concert Band

The RHMS Concert Band is a group made up of 7th and 8th grade students who have successfully completed at least one year of Beginning Band and have committed themselves to developing their talents even further. This ensemble will present three concerts and travel to Santa Clara with the Advanced Band to participate in the Great America Music Festival!

The RHMS Winter Concert is a little less than 2 weeks away!  Please read on for more details and important information.

RHMS Winter Concert

Wednesday, 12/20

7:00 – 8:30 PM

RHMS Gym

-All students are expected to stay for the entire concert!  It is very important that all of the musicians support each other by listening to the other bands!  Please send me an email (mrawlinson [at] campbellusd.org) if your child will be unable to stay for the entire event so that I can arrange a make-up assignment.

-When the students are not performing, they should be sitting with their parents!  Unsupervised students have been very disruptive in past concerts.

-Please observe proper concert etiquette!  There should be no talking, walking, or flash photography during the performances.  If you need to leave your seat, please do so between the songs or bands.

-Please be sure your child has the proper uniform! 

            -Eagle Band – black shoes, black socks, black pants, band t-shirt

            -Concert Band – black shoes, black socks, black pants, green band polo

            -Symphonic Band – band shoes, black socks, black pants, black band polo

-Eagle Band members must arrive at 6:30 PM for warm-ups!  All other students should arrive by 7:00 PM.

-Please consider signing up to help with the Bake Sale by donating food or volunteering your time!  More information will follow.

The next Music Booster meeting will be tomorrow, 11/27, at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria.  Please consider stopping by! 

 We currently only have 100 membership forms turned in out of 225 students. Please turn in your form and provide your email with your students name and class.  We need these forms to gather contact information so we can send out correspondence on key music band/choir events.

Please turn in your Band T-Shirt Order Form by Friday!  Each one of the students needs a green polo shirt for the band concerts, and the t-shirts and sweatshirts are optional.  Family members are welcome to purchase this apparel as well.  Families with more than one student in the band should fill out a separate form for each student.  Thanks!

The Symphonic Band will be performing in the RHMS Fall Concert next Wednesday, 10/25, at 7:00 PM in the gym.  Although your child will not be performing, please consider attending to show your support for the music program!  From the teachers and performers in costume to the wickedly spooky music, the event will be full of fun and excitement!  Also, since there is only one ensemble, the concert will be short and sweet.  Speaking of sweet, we will also hold one of our famous bake sales with plenty of Halloween and Autumn themed treats!  Finally, your kids will relish the chance to see the great RHMS Symphonic Band in action, giving them a glimpse of what lies ahead for them. We really hope to see you there!

Hi Band and Choir Community,

We have our second music booster of the year tomorrow (Monday) 10/16 at 6:30 pm in the multipurpose/cafeteria.  We welcome all to come and hear from Mr. Rawlinson and Mr. Aguayo on the latest news as well as coming to give your voice on upcoming events and band decisions.  

We are still looking for shadows for next year positions:

  • President
  • Bake sale
  • Catalog/pen fundraiser

The Notes and Floats Pops Concert is approaching!  I'm looking forward to a night full of great music, great food, and great company!  It's going to be a blast!

Here are some details:

-Wednesday, June 7th (Music from 6-8 PM, Food from 5-9 PM)

-Please plan to have dinner at this event!  This concert is an outdoor picnic extravaganza, and we will have 3 food trucks selling yummy food as a fundraiser for the band!

-We will also have our customary bake sale and root beer floats for sale.

-Students can wear whatever they please as long as it follows the school dress code.

-Food service begins at 5:00

-Beginning Band students arrive at 5:30

-MRSH (teacher rock band) will perform at 6:00 PM

-Beginning Band will perform at about 6:20 PM

-Intermediate Band will perform at about 6:45 PM

-Jazz Band will perform at about 7:15 PM

-Advanced Band will perform at about 7:40

-8th Grade Awards will be handed out at about 8:00 PM

-Food service ends at about 9:00 PM
