Cornell Notes on leaves. Textbook pages 377-378.

Must include a cross section of a leaf.  If you are not artistically inclined it can be a two dimensional cross section, but must include something to indicate the arrangement of the cells in the leaf, as dicussed in class.

The images below would all be appropriate 2d cross sections.

Friday 6th October

 

Cornell Notes on vascular stems. Textbook pages 376-377.  Due MONDAY 9th October.

As discussed in class, you must include the two cross sections of the two types of stem that are in the textbook; or better/ clearer versions that you find online (reputable sources please).

Remember to integrate text and images.

I will be posting some examples  in Google classroom after the deadline.  If you're really stuck you can email me and I will send you them beforehand.

In class we decided 4 sections are probably appropriate.

Below is an example of the first TWO sections.

Note how we do not have to write in full and complex sentences, but can instead answer the question with a combination of writing and images.

Monday 2nd October

 

This evening's homework is to draw a simple image of a plant including roots, leaves, stem ....and a flower if you are feeling artistic. ON YOUR BLANK AVID CORNELL NOTES HANDOUTS FROM TODAY.

Attached is an example of a suitable drawing. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADD THE LABELS OR COLOUR IN THE BACKGROUND. 

Tomorrow we will make notes around the diagram.

Tuesday 26th September

 

Today's homework is to review the Microscope handout for a 20 question, multiple choice quiz tommorow. 

Write the summary if it helps you study, although this will not be graded.  The handout is in Cornell notes format; this means you can RCR (Read, Cover, Recite).

Monday 25th September

 

Unless you were told your microscope handout was not completed, there is no homework tonight.

If you did not complete the handout, that is your homework.  THIS INCLUDES COLOURING THE DIAGRAM!!!!  It does NOT include the summary.

DUE: Monday 25th September

Side 1. Label the parts of the Microscope using the diagram in the textbook and the word bank. Colour each part a different colour. Circle the important words in the text below the diagram.

Side 2. Complete the Microscope Crossword.

10 pts Diagram labeling and colouring. 10 pts Circling important words. 10 pts for a solid attempt at the crossword.

CREATE TEST QUESTIONS AND A SUMMARY AFTER WE HAVE DONE THE MICROSCOPE DEMONSTRATION. THIS WILL BE A SEPARATE ASSIGNMENT.
