Happy Monday and 1st Day of Trimester 2,

Trimester 2 begins today and ends on Friday, March 9.  The last day before the winter break is Thursday, December 21.
 
Mrs. Donovan will NOT have Homework Center on Monday, December 4.  Mrs. Donovan's Homework Center will return on Monday, December 11.  We are very fortunate to have two 8th grade students join Mrs. Donovan in Homework Center on Mondays!!
  
We are having our 1st Annual 6th grade Movie Afternoon on Friday, December 8th from 3:30 - 5:30 pm.  The cost is $5.00 which includes the movie, soda, and a bag of popcorn.  All movies will be supervised by 6th grade teachers.  Movies include:  Despicable Me 3, Jumanji, Elf, Home Alone 2, and Howl’s Moving Castle.  We look forward to seeing all of our students at the movies!! :)     
The next Magic the Gathering meeting is MONDAY, December 4 in room B-6.  There is no cost to participate in this club.  The club is scheduled to meet twice a month.  Students who attended today had a lot of fun!
 
The musical production of Annie will be performed at RHMS on Thursday, November 30 - Saturday, December 2.  They always do a great job with the school play — I hope that everyone can attend!  You can purchase your tickets at  www.Seatyourself.biz/campbellusd.  I will be attending Friday night’s performance.

Students will be taking another STAR Reading test (part of the AR program).  A new goal will be established for trimester 2, meaning that students will be given a new number of AR points to achieve by the end of the trimester.  Unfortunately, there were several students who were unable to reach their goal for trimester 1.  Please continue to encourage your child to read every day — including weekends!

Magic the Gathering club will be meeting in room B-1 on Monday, November 27.  All students are welcome.  There is no cost to participate in this club.  The club is scheduled to meet twice a month.  A reminder that if your child is struggling with math, they should be in Mrs. Donovan’s room for homework help on Mondays!

Thank you to Mrs. Andersen (Owen’s mom) and Mrs. Schneider (Raiff’s mom) for coming into our classrooms for Project Cornerstone.  They are graciously volunteering their time to help our students, and we really appreciate it.
I am fortunate to now have 4 tutors in Tuesday’s Homework Center — 2 are stellar high school sophomores and the others are exceptional 8th grade students from RHMS.  They are here to help students in all subjects, including math and English.  On Thursdays, I will have the two 8th grade tutors to help out in Homework Center.
