Miss Perris' 6th Grade ELA, Reading, and Social Studies

6/13/18

Dear Parents,

Well, one more year down!  Your children are officially 7th graders!!  It was a fun day today -- signing of yearbooks, opening of time capsules, gobbling of candy, singing Happy Birthday many, many times . . .  Hopefully, students will look back on this year with fondness.  I know that I will.  You have amazing children, and I will miss them a lot!!
As I told the kids, my doors is always open to them (and to you) if you need me!  I appreciate ALL of the support you have given to me throughout the school year!!  I couldn't have done it without you.
As far as what your child can do during the summer — you know what I am going to say — READ!  Rest, relax, have fun, be a kid, and READ.  Hopefully, all students can carve out 30 minutes a day to do some reading.
A special thank you to Mrs. Andersen (Owen’s mom) and Mrs. Schneider (Raiff’s mom) for coming into our classrooms as our Project Cornerstone volunteers.  We really appreciated their time and the valuable lessons that they taught throughout the year.
Another special thank you to Mrs. Mantelli  (Diego's mom) for baby-sitting our classroom plants this summer.  Diego will be helping his mom which I really appreciate.  And, a special thank you to Nisitha (and her mom) for helping me keep the classroom plants alive during the school year!  :)
I hope you all have a relaxing and restful summer.  Enjoy your children!  Time goes by way too fast.  Before you know it, it will be August and back to school!!
Best wishes,
Miss Perris
