Happy Friday,

We spent some time this week organizing our binders and backpacks.  We will do this again before heading off for winter break.
Spelling Bee participants will meet for the lunchtime Spelling Bee in Mr. Burbank’s room beginning on Monday, December 4!  Please encourage your child to beee there (Yes, that was a really bad!)
Mrs. Donovan will NOT have Homework Center on Monday, December 4.  Mrs. Donovan's Homework Center will return on Monday, December 11.  We are very fortunate to have two 8th grade students join Mrs. Donovan in Homework Center on Mondays!!
  
The musical production of Annie will be performed at RHMS on Thursday, November 30 - Saturday, December 2.  They always do a great job with the school play — I hope that everyone can attend!  You can purchase your tickets at  www.Seatyourself.biz/campbellusd.  I will be attending Friday night’s performance.
 
The next Magic the Gathering meeting is MONDAY, December 4 in room B-6.  There is no cost to participate in this club.  The club is scheduled to meet twice a month.  Students who attended today had a lot of fun!

We are having our 1st Annual 6th grade Movie Afternoon on Friday, December 8th from 3:30 - 5:30 pm.  The cost is $5.00 which includes the movie, soda, and a bag of popcorn.  All movies will be supervised by 6th grade teachers.  Movies include:  Despicable Me 3, Jumanji, Elf, Home Alone 2, and Howl’s Moving Castle.  We look forward to seeing all of our students at the movies!! :)
 

The CIA is collecting gift cards for needy families in our community.  Some stores to consider would be:  Safeway, Target, Walmart, Lucky, etc.  Any denomination is welcomed!  Gift cards are due by December 21.  Thank you as always for your support. 

  
There will be a 5/6th grade dance right after school on Friday, December 15th.  Permission slips are required to attend the dance.

Hot cocoa is being sold before school for 50¢ per cup.  Students can purchase it in the Eagle’s Nest.


Candy grams will go on sale in December.  The cost is 50¢ or 3 for $1.00.

Announcements:

2.  Mrs. Donovan’s homework center meets on Mondays from 3:15 - 3:45 pm.
 
3.  Miss Perris’ homework center meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15 - 4:15/4:30 pm.
 
4.  Mr. Chen’s homework center meets on Tuesday through Friday after school.
Homework for 12/1/17:
 

Language Arts (Perris only):  No homework.  Students will complete their iReady testing on Monday!  We will be focusing the next 2+ weeks on sentence structure, parts of speech, and punctuation.

Language Arts (Chen only):  
Social Studies (Perris only):  No homework.  The final Egypt test will be given prior to winter break.  
 
Math (All):  No homework
 
Science (All):  No homework 
 

Reading/Literature (Perris only):  Blue group parents - Students were given their STAR Reading Diagnostic Report today.  They were also assigned a new number of AR points to be earned by the end of trimester 2.  Please review the report with your child, and remind him/her to tape it into the planner. 

Please read 30 MINUTES every day at home.  An AR book should be in a student's backpack at all times.  PLEASE REMIND STUDENTS TO BRING THEIR AR BOOK TO CLASS EVERY DAY!  MANY students have been forgetting!
