Miss Perris' 6th Grade ELA, Reading, and Social Studies

10/20/17

Happy Friday,

Since we are off to camp next week, the only homework for this weekend will be to pack for camp, rest up, and do a little reading!!

As far as packing, make sure to label ALL bags, suitcases, duffel bags, backpacks, etc. with your child’s name.  It doesn’t have to be anything fancy.  You can use a piece of masking tape and write your child’s name on it.  When students arrive at the gym, they are to report to their core teacher.  Make sure that if your child is bringing any type of medication to camp that they turn it in to their teacher.  Students are NOT allowed to transport medication to and from camp.

At some point, a large truck will arrive to pick up all of the student’s belongings.  EVERYTHING (with the exception of your child’s daypack/backpack) is tossed onto this truck.  Once the truck arrives at camp, students will be responsible for retrieving their items.

Students need to keep their backpacks with them on the bus because they should have their bag lunch inside the backpack.

After that, the bus will pick us up and take us to camp.

Reminders:

*Bring a bag lunch for Monday
*Bring a swimsuit/trunks/shorts
*Bring a water bottle
*Bring 2 towels

**Put all medication into a large baggie with your child’s name written on it.  Make sure to have the medication in the original packaging.

Please make sure that you have someone to pick up your child at NOON on Thursday, 10/26.  And, let your child know who will be picking them up.

This is the first time for many students to be away from home.  Please know that they will be well cared for by all of us.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Have a great weekend.  :)
