Rolling Hills Middle School

Principal's Message

Welcome back! It was wonderful to see the kids after the long summer break. It’s always fun to see how our students grow and change over the summer. A new school year can be a challenging time for young adults. Parents frequently feel their child pull away at the beginning of the year, especially when they want to spend more time with their friends. Keeping your rules consistent at home helps create an atmosphere that supports your child throughout the school year. Changes in routines are best after parent/child discussions, with agreements by all parties involved.

While the first few weeks of school are always an adjustment for everyone: waking up early, packing a lunch, turning in papers, and finding classrooms, just to name a few things. Here in the office, it also means balancing classes and changing schedules. Thank you for all your patience as we filter through the first few weeks of school making adjustments to everything.

Here are a few reminders:

  • Please call the attendance line if your child is not coming to school
  • Let you child know if you’re dropping off their lunch (announcements disrupt instructional time)
  • We don’t accept Door Dash for students
  • Medication must be stored in the office with a CUSD medical authorization form
  • Cell phones are not to be visible once your child enters the gates of school
  • Please don’t call or text your child on their cell expecting an answer- all phones are required to be off
  • Always pull your vehicle forward in the pick-up zones after school
