Concert Band

The RHMS Concert Band is a group made up of 7th and 8th grade students who have successfully completed at least one year of Beginning Band and have committed themselves to developing their talents even further. This ensemble will present three concerts and travel to Santa Clara with the Advanced Band to participate in the Great America Music Festival!

Winter Concert Bake Sale

There will be a donations bin labelled Music Boosters Bake Sale in the school office. On the day of the concert, please feel free to drop off donations anytime during the day or bring your donation directly to the bake sale. We will be setting up at 6pm.

RHMS Winter Concert

The RHMS Winter Concert is less than two weeks away!  I hope you're hearing tons of focused practicing at home as we prepare for the big night!  Read on for an approximate schedule and some important details.

When: Wednesday, December 14th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM

Where: RHMS Gym

Schedule: 

6:30 PM - Beginning Band students arrive (meet in Band Room)

7:00 PM - Beginning Band performs

7:20 PM - Intermediate Band performs

7:45 PM - Advanced Band performs

Important Notes:

-Please be prepared to wear the proper band uniform! Black shoes, black socks, and black slacks are required!

-Intermediate and Beginning Band students are welcome to use school-owned shoes free of charge (stop by my office after school- sizes are limited- first come, first served)

-Please plan to stay for the entire event!  Please watch all three performing ensembles!

-Beginning Band students need to arrive at 6:30 PM.  All other students should arrive at 7:00 PM.

-There will be another fabulous bake sale!  Here is a message from our wonderful Bake Sale Coordinators:

The Marshall Lane coffee van Awake Up Call will be serving assorted hot, delicious drinks! 
We will also be selling hot dogs for $1, along with our usual selection of fabulous  baked goods!

Also, please look out next week for information on donating and volunteering on the night of the concert.

Band Shirt Order Form Due!

The band shirt order form is due by the end of this week (11/10).  Intermediate Band students must order an Intermediate Band polo that will be worn for all of our performances.  Additionally, all are welcome to order band t-shirts and sweatshirts, although those are optional.  You will find the form attached to this notification.  Thanks!

Band Fundraiser Continues!

Thanks again for participating in the band fundraiser last month!  It was a resounding success that will prove to be quite helpful for the music program!

Some of the items have arrived and will be available for pick-up after school next week in room N2 (next door to the band room).  Please plan to pick these items up as soon as possible so that you can deliver them to your customers!

RHMS Music Booster Meeting

Please plan to attend the Music Booster meeting on Monday, 10/24, especially if you'd like more information concerning volunteer opportunities and the inner workings of the music program. Music Booster meetings are held at 6:30 PM in the RHMS cafeteria.

RHMS Fall Concert

The Advanced Band's first performance of the year will be on Wednesday, 10/26, at 7:00 PM in the RHMS Gym!  These fine musicians will be presenting a program filled with spooky, sinister, spine-tinglingly entertaining pieces that will delight audience members of all ages.  We hope to see you there!

Although attendance by the members of the Intermediate Band is optional, this event is a wonderful way for the students to watch more experienced musicians play the same instruments they are working to learn. We hope you consider attending this fun event!

Fundraising Materials Due!

Practice Sheet #1, Playing Test #1

The first practice sheet of the year is due to be turned in some time this week.  Also, the students will be taking their first playing test in class this week!
